Mantua and its territory
Renowned for its architectural splendour and medieval charm, Mantua is a town rich in history and ducal splendour, the city of Virgil, greatest of Roman poets, of Mantegna, among the best Renaissance painters, of the Gonzaga, one of the most remarkable of Italian princely families, situated on the River Mincio, Milton’s “smooth-sliding Mincius, crowned with vocal reeds”.
You can consider one of the most important periods of the second millennium visiting Palazzo Ducale or Palazzo Te, St. Andrea Basilica, Medieval Town Hall and S. Lorenzo church, but there is much more to show you.
We hope you are considering the possibility of including Mantua and its territory in your itinerary, and we could plan a wonderful programme tailoring it to your interests!
You will find useful information in the website, but also we would be delighted to give you more information as to special arrangements and itinerary.
We have the pleasure to present programme on special themes for a day trip to Mantua and, for an interesting visit in the area, some excursions.
